The Swiss Foundation
of the Order of the Knights of Rondmons

Protocol relating to the possession of a title bestowed by the Foundation of the Order of the Knights of Rondmons

1. The aims of the Foundation with reference to its statutes are:

    a) To create, administer and protect the names of the knighthood, and the titles and coats-of-arms that are solely for use by the Knights, as well as conferring or withdrawing them.

    b) To set up a fund for the renovation, acquisition, transformation and leasing of buildings and châteaux for use by the Knights.

    c) To ensure that there exists total transparency within the Order and that it is never sectarian. (The name of Rondmons is the former name of the Town of Romont).

    d) To promote the development of a new knighthood, the principles of which must be based on an idealist type of behaviour.

2. The Foundation is placed under the surveillance of the competent Authorities, in accordance with Article 84 paragraph 1 of the Swiss Civil Code. The accounts are audited by an official and independent auditing body. The supervisory Authority of the Foundation audits the accounts every calendar years and monitors the strict application of the afore-mentioned statutes.

3. The Foundation alone decides on the distribution of the funds according to its statutes. Funds are allocated to the management, acquisition, administration, the attributes of Knights and to investments. The Foundation also reserves the right to support heritage, cultural and charitable works of its choice.

4. Legally, the Seal Duty represents a gift and may not be recovered or deducted for tax purposes. It does not give rise to any restriction or commitment in the strict legal sense. There are no annual contributions.

5. Once a Knight owns his titles, any possessor of a Letter of Knighthood issued by the Foundation  of the Order of the Knights of Rondmons is protected by the Foundation’s notary, by virtue of the Federal Law on Copyright and similar rights of 9th October 1992 (articles 2, 9, 10, 11 and 29).

6. The owner of a title bestowed by the Foundation enjoys a right of usufruct of its property assets, by virtue of article 745 of the Swiss Civil Code. The internal regulations are applicable to each object.

7. A title may be used legally at all times and is officially recognised throughout the world. A title may be passed on to a third party on payment of a new Seal Duty. Titles may be changed on payment of a small fee to cover the costs incurred.

8. The Order is democratic and sovereign. It is based on communication and courtesy. Beyond dialogue and respect for others, there are no doctrines or mysteries within the Order. The device of the Order of the Knights of Rondmons is "Nil Obstat".
