The aims of the Foundation
The Foundation’s aims, with reference to its statutes, are:
a) To create, administer and protect the names of the knighthood, and the titles and coats-of-arms that are solely for use by the Knights, as well as conferring or withdrawing them.
Explanation: A certain number of titles and coats-of-arms have been created and filed with a Swiss notary. They are protected by international law and are officially recognised. Since the Order of the Knights of Rondmons is a sovereign body, it can award or withdraw its titles, according to its own rules.
b)To set up a fund for the renovation, acquisition, transformation and leasing of buildings or châteaux for use by the Knights.
Explanation: The funds collected allow assets to be created that are made available to the Knights as well as the public. The more Knights there are, there more it will be possible to save a certain number of heritage objects.
c) To ensure that there exists total transparency within the Order and that it is never sectarian.
Explanation: The Order of the Knights of Rondmons does not differentiate between persons and respects everyone’s freedom of thought. It holds no particular doctrine and does not practice any proselytising. It is apolitical and there is no commitment or mystery therein. The name Rondmons is the former name of the Town of Romont.
d) To promote the development of a new knighthood, the principles of which must be based on an idealist type of behaviour.
Explanation: By means of its heritage, cultural and charitable projects, the Foundation, in the image of its founder Pierre Bertherin, wishes to develop a new knighthood, as portrayed in the "Testament of the Knight of Rondmons". The basic principles are communication and courtesy.
