The spirit of Chivalry

The path of chivalry does not belong just to a glorious past; if we aspire to it, we can all follow the path.

If this new form of chivalry appeals to you, you should be aware that it truly affects our everyday lives.

Even today, we can follow this ideal, not because of a yearning for the part, but to face up to the challenges facing our existence.

The chivalrous ideal changes as time passes and each one of us has their own perception of chivalry.

Nobility tries in vain to appropriate this ideal – the two are not consubstantial. In essence, chivalry does not depend on birth, but is founded on the personal qualities of those who claim it.

If we take it to heart and adopt it, this view covers the democratic ideal that characterises our times. We could even say that democracy is an opportunity for the chivalrous ideal to regain its true meaning.

There truly exists a fundamental wisdom that allows us to work for a fairer society.

Everyone has the freedom to set his own standards.

“We are all valiant knights”
